Spelling Workout: Level B Student Edition - 2nd Grade
Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2010-02-12 Summary: Spelling Workout is a W-I-N at our house. ... We have been using the Spelling Workout books for a few years now. My kids, ages 11, 9 and 7, have always been home educated.... they consistently test at well above their grade levels in Spelling and I believe that is thanks to these fabulous books. Well, that and my kids are pretty freaking awesome too! =) ...more
[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2009-09-22 Summary: great resource ... We just started using level B for our second grader. Our boy is an excellent reader. He reads a variety of items from Berenstain Bears books (picture and chapter books) to technical explanations (in grown-up books) of how aircraft, trains, and submarines were developed and how they work. I had hoped that spelling would come easily from all that reading. It hasn't. My boy enjoys the Spelling Workout lessons. They are short and entertaining. He really enjoys the proofreading exercises, which reinforce not only spelling ...more
[3] Rating: 4 Date: 2009-09-07 Summary: Good Spelling Serires ... Spelling Workout is a good series for spelling. Both of my kids have done very well with it and they have become good spellers. My only criticism is the writing section at the end. I don't think that they are very helpful. I think that they are too difficult to complete for young kids in just a sentence or two (all you have room for). Also, as a believer in the classical model, I think they are just a bit too contrived at times. I would much prefer a dictation type section or copywork to practice correct grammar and ...more
[4] Rating: 5 Date: 2009-03-31 Summary: So far...so good...BETTER than anything else we've tried! ... So far, we've enjoyed this spelling curriculum. My son is 7 and he doesn't like a lot of "bells and whistles". This is to the point but holds his interest with pictures and a mix-up of activities in each lesson. ...more

[3] Rating: 4 Date: 2007-08-13 Summary: Training for life. ... The book is interesting, good advice and easy to follow the instructions. I have been regularly going to the gym since I was 17 years old, now I am 79 and with an estimated age between 71 to 73. The exercises and texts in this book have been in my routine, plus some advice from Reail Age page many years ago. I would recommend its reading for starters and gym participants. Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2009-11-24 Summary: maybe too good! ... This little water-proof book is fantastic. I keep it right at the gym and simply pick one of the many workouts (endurance, speed, form, force, etc...)and then hit the water. Each workout has a long and a short version so you can select based on how you are feeling that day or the event you are training for. One problem, running and biking have taken back seats to swimming! ...more
[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2009-11-11 Summary: Great workouts! ... Waterproof easy to use. Meant for serious swimming distances. Lots of codes to refer to-but does come in handy by the wet pool! ...more
[3] Rating: 4 Date: 2009-06-09 Summary: Good book for Triathletes who need direction in the pool ... I bought this book after I mistakenly bought the newer, updated version that had workouts more geared for swimmers (different strokes, really high volume, etc). I am very pleased with the book, it offers direction and a plan for those who previously just jump in, swim 1500 and leave. The book has different types of workouts (endurance, speed, strength, etc)and has 2 versions per workout (one usually 500M less than the other). Each workout is 2000M-3500M, so it can be done in a reasonable amount of time. Waterproof ...more
[4] Rating: 4 Date: 2008-12-20 Summary: Great book, a bit tough for a beginner though ... This a great book with a well organized, clear and simple format. The waterproof pages are great and I have got this book completed soaked on the pool deck and it has no probs. Each of the workouts has a long and a short version depending on your swimming ability, however I found that when I first got this book my ability was not even up to the shorter workouts. Overall a great product esp. if you can't be part of a Master's swim team. ...more
