Spelling Workout: Level A, Student Edition
Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-08-12
Summary: spelling workout, level A
... We love Spelling Workout. My 6 year old is a proficient reader and has used a phonics based reading program. This workbook makes her slow down and think about how the words are spelled and we also use our "best handwriting". She spells words exactly how they sound which is cute for family but usually not the correct spelling. I find this workbook the right amount of practice with 3-4 letter words to build a solid foundation for further writing.

Summary: exactly what we needed!
... I learned about this workbook from several homeschooling sources and decided to give it a try. I do not home school but was looking for an enrichment/bridging activity to complete with my 6 yr. old son over the summer. This workbook is designed for the child in 1st grade and while we have not completed the book yet I am very pleased. The lessons only take about 15 minutes to complete and cover the same topics my son's teachers have been covering in school. There are 36 lessons in the workbook (perfect for doing over

Summary: Spelling Workout A
... I really like this series because each skill builds on the previous skill giving your child the foundation they need to not only know how to spell well but also read well. The lay out of each lesson is easy to understand and focuses on only one area of spelling basing all work on phonics. My first child is nearly done with this series, but my second child has just begun. She is really thriving with it. I plan to use this same series for all my children.

Summary: Spelling Workout Level A
... I homeschool my son who just turned 6 in September. He would have started K this year in public school, but we are working on a first grade level. We use this for our spelling book. It works closely with our reading lessons. My son enjoys it and is enthusiastic about the lessons. We usually do two pages a day, take one day to write his own sentences using the spelling words and then a 'test' on Friday. We even do a four unit review test. It has improved his reading and he is more apt to write sentences now. We will

15-minute Total Body Workout
Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-07-31 Summary: Fantastic book for those who dont like to exercise ... For starters, I do not like to exercise and going to the gym classes takes up too much time to keep me motivated. So, I finally decided to look for some simple exercises that wouldn't require special equipment, would be simple enough to do by myself and would not require 1 hr of exercising every day. I was standing in front a shelf in a bookstore, looking for a book with simple exercises and out of the whole shelf of texts on "perfect body" routines, written only to those who go to the gym 3 times a day, this one (and ...more
[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-10-09 Summary: Very helpful combo ... I worked out with it couple of times, and found it easy to follow and nice to be able to see in the book the right way of doing the moves. It is like having your own gym couch at home. ...more
[3] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-09-11 Summary: Awesome workout! ... I have recently tried several different exercise videos and I love this. The workouts are short (which is nice) but still get my heart rate up. At 15 minutes a day it is much easier to keep up an exercise routine. Felt a difference within only a few days. Loved it so much I'm getting one for my sister. ...more
[4] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-11-03 Summary: Joan rocks and this time includes a DVD to prove it! ... Joan Pagano does it again. Her workouts in this book are fast, fun and functional fitness for everyone, not just women. You can do one workout at a time or combine them in different ways if you have more time. The beautiful photography that accompanies the workout, the foldout summary, and the DVD accurately illustrates the proper form and the targeted muscles. No guesswork here! The book's "frequently asked questions" section at the end of every workout and the total body roundup at the book's end should answer all ...more

[2] Rating: 4 Date: 2008-11-18 Summary: This series is coming into its own - ... When I read the first installment of the Fat City Mystery series, I had some second thoughts about Ms. Lilley's abilities as a mystery author. She proved me wrong with this second novel featuring Kate Gallagher, investigative reporter. Whereas previously there were a lot of plot points that were very easy to pick out from the very beginning, in A Killer Workout that was not the case. Ms. Lilley managed to throw enough curveballs to keep me guessing with this one. I really liked the fact that this wasn't a straight ...more
[3] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-10-19 Summary: Great read ... The second book in the Fat City Mystery series is another fun read. Kathryn Lilley spins a great story about Kate Gallagher's weight loss pursuit, weaving some characters from the previous book "Dying to be thin" into this tale. We learn more in this book about why Kate's father is so protective of her - her mother was killed in a armed robbery of a bakery -(can this lead to the next book?) ...more

[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-09-07 Summary: One of the great books to learn basic EKG strip interpretation ... I am one of those people who sometimes quickly forget what I read if I deem the subject difficult or intimidating. Often I have to get more than one reference, but this is one of the better books on learning basic EKGs. Lots of practice strips, flash cards, and thorough explanations. Once I learned the KEY differences of certain rhythms to simplify recognition then read the WHY OR HOW it happens, it made learnng EKGs so much easier, at least it did for me. I used to have such a mental block with learning EKGs because ...more
