Summary: Great for what it is... a conditioning workout
... I think this video was great but, you have to know what it really is. When you watch it you see the BUDS trainees getting a minor thrashing. You should just follow what it does and build up to the reps that they go to. If your looking for somethings to introduce into your current work out, or if you need some ideas to start a work out routine, then you might like this video. The quality isn't the greatest, but then again who really cares, you get the point, and they show you how to do each exercise propperly.

The Navy Seal Workout : The Compete Total-Body Fitness Program
Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 4 Date: 2005-01-14 Summary: For getting in awesome shape. ... First off, I just want to clarify that all these people who say you won't be a Navy SEAL after reading this book are right. The only way to be a Navy SEAL is to go train with them. That said, this book is excellent for an ordinary person who wants to get in great shape. I am using it to train for rugby and the strength excersises are what I find most helpful. Using body weight has left me less sore than using dumbbells but a lot more tired. This program is primarily for building muscle endurance, though you will get ...more
[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2007-09-20 Summary: Even as a college athlete, I was amazed ... As a college athlete, I am used to intensive workout programs, often times spend hours on end with high tech equipment in the weight room. I decided to buy the Navy SEAL Workout as a way to stay in shape over the summer without having to dish out hundreds of dollars at an overcrowded gym. I was absolutely AMAZED at what I accomplished in just under 12 weeks of training in my own back yard (I used a branch of a tree to do pull-ups). I am in my physical peak, and was in better shape than most of my teammates who went ...more
Editorial Reviews [1] ... Review | It stands to reason that the military units assigned to carry out the most dangerous missions would require their soldiers to be in the best shape. To get the soldiers in that kind of shape, those units--the U.S. Navy SEALs among them--would have to have the most effective and innovative fitness programs. The Navy SEAL Workout doesn't disappoint. The program will build tremendous upper-body strength and muscular endurance through a series of pull- ups (there are five variations on this exercise), dips,...more
[2] ... Product Description | "Many people believe the only way to get in shape is by putting a lot of money into trendy fitness centers, or spending hard-earned cash on a variety of workout videotapes. In the end, these methods seldom provide the results we're all looking for. But don't get me wrong--I am not demeaning gyms or workout tapes; in fact, I still enjoy the benefits of a gym to keep fit. Weight-lifting rooms and other facilities can be extremely beneficial. However, to obtain and maintain supreme cardiovascular...more

Special Ops Fitness Training: High-Intensity Workouts of Navy Seals, Delta Force, Marine Force Recon and Army Rangers
Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-05-04 Summary: BEST IN ITS CLASS! ... I have read two other books by the author (Neal SEAL workout, and Master Level Fitness) and this is by far his best book to date, and I rate it BEST IN CLASS. There are so many "SEAL" fit-type books in the marketplace and I have read them all, but this is the very best of all of the ones available to the reader. The book is well-organized, is broken up into separate workouts depending on which branch of service you want to emulate. Workouts are progressive and even though most are based on bodyweight calesthenics, ...more

Editorial Reviews ... Product Description | Whether you want to be a Navy SEAL or just look like one...here's your chance! Navy SEALs are ordinary people who do extraordinary jobs. It takes an optimal level of fitness to swim 6 miles, run 15 miles and perform over 150 pull-ups, 400 pushups and 400 sit-ups in one day -- but more importantly, it takes motivation and determination to stick with it to the end. If you follow and finish this workout, you will find yourself in the best physical shape of your life! This new, revised edition...more
